A big hello

I thought it was about time I introduce myself to you, so you know who is behind the lens! Blogging is a new thing to me but I think it is a great way for me to connect with you and let you in on what is going on in my world as a photographer and horse owner.

So about me, I’m Melody Fisher, currently in my last year of college studying; Geography, Geology and Maths. I have been around horses all my life thanks to my mum being an eventer (now long retired!). Me and my parents have our own 14.2hh pony called Paddington Bear aka Paddy, who we are now competing in carriage driving trials.

I first started taking photos for fun at dog shows for my mum when she was showing Papillons. As I got older I was allowed to have a loan horse, who ended up being my main subject of photography. His owner was a keen shower so I was able to join her at horse shows and take photos of her and other competitors and that’s when I became hooked!

I started up my photography page on Facebook in 2013 to share photos with anyone interested instead of blocking my friends news feeds up each time I went to a horse show. It was then that I started getting likes and comments about my photography and I started to realise how much I enjoyed sharing my love of photography with everyone. In 2014 I accepted my first official photo shoot, and what a way to start! I had the privilege of photographing a Friesian stallion called Oliver and I was even given the chance to have a ride on him after at the end of the day (a dream come true).

Ever since that photo shoot I haven’t looked back. I am so thankful to everyone’s kind comments and support. Already this year has been successful as I have attended four events in the past two weeks and the showing season has only just started!
